Transportation Alternative Program
Transportation Alternative Program Funding
The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) provides funding for programs and projects defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation; recreational trail program projects; safe routes to school projects; and projects for planning, designing, or constructing boulevards and other roadways largely in the right-of-way of former Interstate System routes or other divided highways. Each year, approximately $625,000 is available in TAP funding for our region.
Because TAP projects were not solicited last year, CIRTPA will have approximately $1.2 million available for this funding round.
Applications are due February 16.
Please note that any eligible applicant within the CIRTPA Planning Area is eligible to apply for TAP funding without a CIRTPA member project sponsor.
