Transportation Alternative Program Funding
The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) provides funding for programs and projects defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation; recreational trail program projects; safe routes to school projects; and projects for planning, designing, or constructing boulevards and other roadways largely in the right-of-way of former Interstate System routes or other divided highways. Each year, approximately $250,000 is available in TAP funding for our region. For FFY 2020 through 2023, CIRTPA has made up to $1,000,000 available for projects with $250,000 being available in each federal fiscal year.
Applications for Federal Fiscal Year 2020 STBG-TAP funds are due to the CIRTPA by 4:30 p.m. on February 1st, 2019.
